Our English homestay courses allow you to focus on improving your overall level of English and your communication skills. By living in the home of your teacher, you maximise your opportunity to practise speaking and develop listening skills outside of lessons, such as on cultural excursions and at meal times, providing a total immersion experience.

The Orchard Home Tuition Young Learner Programme provides a safe environment for children to learn and improve their English language skills. The teacher will encourage students to join in with everyday life, providing ample opportunity for the student to be totally immersed in to British life and culture.

Expert English Teachers
All of our teachers are qualified to teach English as a foreign language. Many have taught English all of their lives and others have retrained following successful careers in business in various industries and sectors. They are knowledgeable about British culture and enjoy sharing their home and experience with students.



Mike retrained as a teacher of English following his career as a teacher of business Studies. He now combines teaching English to homestay students with working 1 day a week in the local school.

Mike lives with his wife Jillian who enjoys taking students on cultural visits when Mike is working at school.

The live in the beautiful village of Hook Norton, close to the town of Banbury.

Banbury, Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon and The Cotswolds are all nearby.



Lorraine was a secondary school teacher for over 20 years before taking the additional qualification to teach English as a foreign language. She also worked at a trainer in the Police Force and as a teacher and manager in a further education college.

Lorraine lives in the West of England a short distance from the beautiful city of Bath. She has a grown up daughter and grandson who are regular visitors to her home, and she has a dog that she enjoys walking in the local countryside.



Melissa is a qualified teacher of English as a foreign language. Before becoming a teacher Melissa, had a successful career in publishing, working as an editor.

Melissa lives in rural Kent. They have 3 grown up children, 1 who lives in London and 2 that will finish university in the summer of 2017.



Esther is an experienced teacher, and now enjoys teaching English as a foreign language from her home near Horsham, in Sussex.

Esther was born in The Netherlands and has lived in England for over 30 years. She lives with her husband Mike, who is an airline pilot.



Edward is a highly qualified teacher of English. He holds the DELTA qualification and has been teaching English for many years, both in language schools and at home. Edward is very experienced in all areas of English and enjoys teaching General English, Business English and Exam Preparation.

Edward lives in a small village just a short distance from the city of Oxford. There are regular trains and buses to Oxford from the village.



Rosie is a qualified teacher of English. Rosie loves sharing her home and the local area with students. Before becoming a teacher of English Rosie had a very successful career working in London in the advertising industry.

Rosie lives with her husband Paul, who works in banking, and she has 2 adult sons. They live in a small village near the town of Romsey, which is near the South Coast.



Before becoming a teacher of English, Ljiljana had a very successful career as an Editor in the publishing industry. Now she combines her work at a freelance editor with home tuition.

Ljiljana lives near the town of Saffron Waldren and the city of Cambridge. Student can be in Cambridge by train in 15 minutes.



Mike is a very experienced teacher who enjoys teaching General and Business English courses.

He lives with wife, Di, who is an excellent cook, and runs her own business in Crafts and Soft Furnishings.

Mike lives near the town of Camberley, and London is easily accessible by train in 35 minutes.



Maggie is a qualified and experienced teacher of English based in Lymington on the South Coast of England. Maggie has been teaching English as a Foreign Language for over 30 years.

Maggie lives with her partner Ian. They both enjoy playing tennis and are members of the local tennis club.

Lymington is a great location for exploring the South of England, including the cities of Winchester, Salisbury, Bournemouth and Southampton, along with the beautiful New Forest, where you will find horses and donkey’s roaming wild in the countryside.
