The Orchard Home Tuition Young Learner Programme provides a safe environment for children to learn and improve their English language skills. The teacher will encourage students to join in with everyday life, providing ample opportunity for the student to be totally immersed in to British life and culture.

Many have taught English all of their lives and others have retrained following successful careers in business in various industries and sectors. Irene is a qualified English teacher.  She combines teaching English in her home with working as an actress throughout the year.  Before becoming a teacher of English, Irene had a very successful career as an actress in the theatre and on TV.

She lives in a small village near the city of Brigton, with her partner Sam and grown up son.

Emily is a qualified teacher of English who has taught English overseas and in the UK.  She has been teaching in schools and as a homestay teacher for many years, and now concentrates on home tuition students.

Emily lives in a small village close to the city of Oxford.  She lives with her husband and teenage daughter, who attends a local boarding school.

Philip is a qualified and experienced teacher of English.  Before becoming a teacher of English, Philip had a very successful career in banking and marketing.  Philip specialises in Business English and Exam Preparation courses.

Philip lives with his wife Zena, and grown up son.  They live in the town of Faversham in Kent.

Sue is a qualified and experienced teacher.  She has been a 1:1 home tutor for many years.  Sue has a degree in French & Spanish and loves to explore London with her students on day excursions.

Sue lives with her husband Nick in a village near Farnham in Surrey.   They have grown up children who live in London, and sometimes visit at the weekend.

Katie is a qualified Secondary School teacher who combines teaching at the local school with her work as a homestay teacher. Katie has been teaching English as a Foreign Language for several years on a 1:1 basis.

Katie lives with her husband and 2 sons (YOB 2005 & 2006) in Kent.

Katie’s hobbies include amateur dramatics and dancing. She enjoys modern jive and lindyhop. Katie also enjoys pub quizzes and is the member of a local team.

Tom had a very successful career working as a chief chemist in the chemical industry, and then retrained to become an analyst for a large bank.

Roz and Tom live in the South East of England near the town of Horsham.

Pamela combines teaching English as a Foreign Language for home stay students with her role as a magistrate in the local courts.

Pamela has been teaching home stay students since 1998 and has taught over 140 students from all over Europe, including Eastern Europe, and Japan. She also teaches exam preparation courses and all of her FCE students have passed.
